Scott Howells Technical Director Scott is a senior management professional with expertise and a successful track record in managing and delivering a variety of property development types in varying construction industry sectors.
Having previously worked for leading Architecture practices as well as Main Contractors, Top 10 Housebuilders and Property Developers with Architectural and Project/Construction Management qualifications.
Specialising in Planning, Design Technical & Construction he has managed and delivered some award winning projects/development's with SME's and PLC's, from one off Grand Design Builds to Consortium New Town developments, Listed Building Refurbishment/Conversions and Mixed Use Tenure schemes comprising of Open Market, Affordable Housing, BTR/BTS and Student PBSA in the Residential Sector. In 2024 Scott joined Dart Abbey Developments as Planning, Design & Technical Director (non-board member) to assist Simon and Richard to set up a construction/development delivery business as part of Buckfast Abbey Trust.
 Tracy McNama PA Tracy has achieved a reputation as a reliable, flexible and hard-working personal assistant over the past 5 years. Having started work in 2020 as PA to the Chairman of a local property development company, Tracy’s experience ranges from effective minute-taking and mediating at top level, to organising multiple, complex meetings and calendars. She has built strong, trusted relationships with a range of internal and external colleagues and has been integral in organisational change management. She has most recently achieved the Professional Certificate in Company Secretary with distinction. Tracy has a successful track record of efficient organisational working and in showing initiative and is now using her recently acquired skills on the Governance Committee of Buckfast Abbey. In 2024, Tracy joined Dart Abbey Developments to support Simon Clayton and Philip Arkwright at Buckfast. Richard Austin Commercial Director Richard brings extensive senior management experience to the construction industry. Trained as a commercial surveyor, he has held management and director-level positions in both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and publicly listed companies (PLCs). His expertise spans all facets of construction, including business development, commercial management, and construction management, alongside a proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with development partners. He has a successful track record of delivering projects ranging from historical building refurbishments and new builds to general refurbishments across various sectors, including education, commercial, affordable housing, and open market developments. In 2024, he joined Dart Abbey Developments as Commercial Director (non-board member) to support Simon and Scott in establishing a construction and development delivery business for the Buckfast Abbey Trust. Simon Clayton Director of Developments Simon has built a career focused on historic building preservation, estate management, and property development. Beginning in 1996 as an architectural technician at a small Mid Devon practice, he gained valuable experience working with prominent organisations including South West Water, The National Trust, St Austell Brewery, and Buckfast Abbey. In 2018, he joined Buckfast Abbey full-time to establish and manage their estates department. He furthered his professional development by qualifying as a construction manager in 2021 and achieving chartered status in 2022. His career has culminated in his 2024 appointment to lead the highly experienced team at Dart Abbey Developments.
